Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!
Mission is looking for cheerful volunteers to help with supervision from 8:25–8:55 am, including supporting our crosswalk. Your friendly presence makes a big difference!
If you can lend a hand, please email our front office clerk, Natasha, at Natasha.Alatorre@sanjuan.edu.
Thank you for helping keep our mornings safe and welcoming.
At Mission, we love volunteers! Before volunteering you must be cleared by the district. That includes being fingerprinted. Head over to the district office board room from 5-6:30 pm. This is a FREE walk-in clinic for volunteer fingerprinting. Make sure you have completed your verification form prior to fingerprinting and have a valid photo ID.

It is time to welcome all the Mission families, old and new, to Mission Avenue Open Elementary. Please join us for a light breakfast and refreshments all while getting to know your fellow Mission families. This is a great chance to find out what make Mission Avenue such a special place. We hope to see you all there and welcome to the Mission Avenue Family!
📣 Your PTA Team Wants You on the Roster! 🏆
Think of our PTA as an all-star team — different skills, same goal: helping our kids win big. This year, we’ve got a few open positions, and we’re scouting for our next MVPs!
Joining the PTA board isn’t just about meetings and agendas. It’s about:
đź’ˇ Sharing ideas that help our kids thrive.
🎉 Planning events that bring our community together.
🤝 Building friendships that last long after your kids have graduated.
Whether you’re great at strategy, organization, fundraising, or just bringing the hype, there’s a spot for you on our team.
Interested in joining the team? Email Travis at president@missionpta.org.
The Mission PTA brings families, teachers, and staff together to enrich learning through hands-on experiences, the arts, and events that make Mission Avenue special. Join us and be part of something magical!
Whether you have two hours a week or two hours a year, there’s a way for everyone to be part of the Mission Magic.
Becoming a PTA member is the easiest way to show your support. There’s no obligation to attend meetings or volunteer (unless you want to!). Your membership helps fund programs and shows you believe in Mission Magic.
lead
Whether you want to serve on the PTA board, chair a committee, or represent your classroom, there’s a place for you. No experience needed— just a willingness to jump in and help our school shine.
help
Many of our events can’t run without the help of day-of volunteers. Whether you’re setting up tables, handing out snacks, or running a game booth, these short shifts make a big difference — and they’re a fun way to meet other families!
connect
PTA meetings are open to everyone and a great way to learn what’s happening at school, share ideas, and connect with other families. Whether you just listen in or bring a new idea to the table, you’re always welcome.
Every role—big or small—helps make Mission Avenue the magical place it is. When we all pitch in, amazing things happen for our kids.
Our PTA, made up of parents, grandparents, teachers and school staff, work together to create opportunities and special moments for our students and our community. We aim to enrich the education of our children through hands on experiences, a dedication to the arts, and a commitment to the development of well-rounded young people.
NOTHING! There are no commitment or expectations of PTA members, you’re just simply showing your support for our great students, school, parents, and staff. Of course, we encourage all parents to get involved with the PTA, there is absolutely no obligation to do so.
At the end of every school year, the new PTA Board members are elected by the general PTA membership. If you are interested in serving on the board next year, email president@missionpta.org to learn more about putting your name on the ballot.
