Tuesday, January 15, 2019, is Author Day at Mission Avenue Open School! Sponsored by the Mission PTA, 2019 Author Day will feature two Sacramento authors, Joanna Rowland and Jenny Lundquist.
Mission students will have the opportunity to meet both authors, listen to stories, and learn what it means to be an author. The authors will be autographing books. Students can bring their own books from home or purchase one of our limited number of books for sale on Author Day. Books will be on sale before school by the MP Room. We will accept cash, credit and check (made out to MAOS PTA) payments. Prices listed below include tax.

About the Authors
Joanna Rowland:
Joanna Rowland grew up in Sacramento, CA with her parents and three sisters. When she was little she liked to play in the creek looking for crawdads and tadpoles. Joanna loved to daydream and spent her hot summers as a synchronized swimmer.
Joanna received her BA in Child Development followed by teaching credential. Currently, she is an elementary teacher by day and a writer by night while being a wife and mother to three daughters in Northern California.

Jenny Lundquist:
Jenny Lundquist was born and raised in Huntington Beach, CA, the original “Surf City USA.” She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intercultural Studies with a minor in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) at Biola University.
Jenny has painted an orphanage in Mexico, taught English at a university in Russia, and hopes to one day to kiss her husband at a café in Paris. She lives in northern California with her husband, Ryan, two sons and Rambo, the world’s whiniest cat.
