Do you want to serve on the PTA Board next year?

Have you wanted to participate more?  Put your stamp on something? Think you could do something a little better?

We’re looking for you!  Make your kids’ school a little better place!

Every spring, we accept nominees for the following year’s PTA Board – President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Auditor, and Financial Secretary

The first step is the election of the Nominating Committee, which happened at our February PTA meeting. Per the Mission PTA bylaws, the committee meets and discusses potential candidates for the seven elected positions on the Mission PTA Executive Board. They will then make official nominations for next year’s slate of officers.

The elected PTA officers include:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Financial Secretary
  • Auditor
  • Historian

If you are interested in serving in any of these positions (see descriptions below)—or know someone you think would be a good candidate—please contact to nominating committee. The committee can be reached by emailing nominations@missionpta.org.

As directed by our Mission PTA Bylaws, the Nominating Committee recommends one individual per position for the ballot.  These nominations will be posted 28 days before the election, which is held at the April PTA meeting. Additional nominations can be made from the floor at that meeting.

The PTA members present at the April PTA meeting vote by secret ballot for their preferred candidates. The results will be announced by the close of the meeting. Only individuals who have been members for at least 30 days are eligible to vote. So, if you want to have a say in selecting next year’s PTA officers, please make sure you join the PTA!

Volunteer Positions

At last count, there were more than 35 official volunteer positions on the Mission PTA! We couldn’t do all the awesome things we do without the dedication of these individuals. If you would like to get more involved with PTA, please click here to view the available volunteer positions for the next school year. There are opportunities to fit any schedule and level of commitment. We welcome all the helping hands we can get!
