Welcome back Mission families! (And a big WELCOME TO MISSION for our new families. We’re so glad you’re here.) While we long for the day (hopefully soon) when we can all be on campus again (safely), the Mission PTA is still here, working behind the scenes to support our students.
School Supplies: Our first project this year is to provide financial and logistical support to get critical school supplies into the hands of students. Once our teachers have compiled their supply lists, we will be moving quickly to purchase supplies for our Mission families in need. Keep an eye out for more details.
Teacher Grants: We will also be increasing our teacher grants (pending approval at our first PTA meeting, which will be Tuesday, September 1 at 6:30 pm via Zoom). Our PTA Executive Board has been working hard this summer to identify areas where we can best support our teachers as they shift to distance learning.
Membership: Everything we do is made possible by the support of our fabulous Mission families. If you are able, please become a member of the Mission PTA. It’s just $10 per year, and in doing so you’ll support programs that support your children and their teachers. Anyone can join – parents, grandparents, etc. We also accept direct donations in any amount. You can even earmark your donation for a specific program (for example, art, music, library, etc.)
Fundraisers: While most of our normal fundraisers are up in the air for the time being, there are still a few ways you can support Mission, until we are able to again see each other in person.
- Missionwear: 2020 Missionwear is now posted in our online shop! We will be accepting orders through September 5. Pickup will be timed with distribution of classroom instructional materials sometime in September. Exact date is TBD. If you are unable to pick up on the scheduled distribution day, we can make individual arrangements to get you your Mission gear. And DON’T FORGET, PTA members get 10% off Missionwear! Just add a membership to your cart and the discount will automatically be applied at checkout.
- Amazon Smile: Did you know that with Amazon Smile, every time you place an order, the Mission PTA can earn money to support student programs? No strings attached. It’s really just that easy. Click here to learn more.
- Restaurant Fundraisers: Keep an eye out for some restaurant fundraisers in the near future. And if any Mission families have connections with local restaurants that may be interested in participating, email fundraising@missionpta.org.
