During this unprecedented time, the California State PTA has released new guidelines for how to conduct PTA meetings and elections. This way PTA boards can sustain a duty of care in running and managing their PTA, while maintaining social distance and the safety of their families.
The California State PTA is temporarily allowing all PTAs to conduct business through use of conference telephone and/or electronic video screen communication. This applies to both executive board meetings AND association meetings, including elections.
Therefore, we have set our next meeting for May 5, 2020, at our regularly scheduled time of 6:30 pm. The meeting will take place via Zoom. Details will be provided in a few weeks. Please RSVP to the Facebook event to receive updates.
PTA Elections
One important piece of business that will take place at the May 5 meeting will be our annual election. Below are the Mission PTA Executive Board nominees for the 2020-2021 term of office.

A Nominating Committee was elected at the January PTA meeting. The committee met several times to discuss potential candidates for the seven elected officer positions on the Executive Board. As directed by our Mission PTA Bylaws, the Nominating Committee recommends one individual per position for the ballot. Additional nominations can be made from the floor at the May 5 meeting.
The PTA members present at the meeting on May 5 will vote by anonymous Zoom poll for their preferred candidates. The results will be announced by the close of the meeting. Only individuals who have been members for at least 30 days are eligible to vote. So, if you want to have a say in selecting next year’s PTA officers, you need to JOIN TODAY.
